VANDAMToken Ledger
See where the tokens goand what they produce.
A ledger of every AI subscription and API key in your company, with spend per person, team, tool, model and workflow next to the work it produced: tickets closed, quotes sent, hours saved. We set it up on your own accounts, then run the caps, routing rules and monthly review with you.

Historically, leaders had to think about allocating budget for headcount and software. Now, token budget must be a serious consideration. Do you set limits per employee? How do you measure the ROI on your token budget?
TenexApril 2026Source Most of the bill is fine. We go looking for the part that produced nothing.
The AI bill has no line items.
Nobody can say what it bought.
Most companies now pay for AI in four or five places at once: chat subscriptions per seat, API keys on a developer’s card, agent platforms billed by usage, coding tools billed by the token. Finance sees the invoices. Nobody sees which team spent what on which model, or whether the work got done.
Token Ledger puts every subscription and key on one page and attributes each dollar to a person, a team, a model and a workflow. Then it follows the dollar into the systems where the work lands, so the ledger shows the tickets closed, the quotes sent and the invoices posted. You see the hours saved, the cost per completed task and the share of spend that produced nothing anyone can find.
That second view sets the controls. Routine work moves to a cheaper model, the frontier models stay where they change the result, and caps go on the sessions that run unattended. Two of the questions
Alex Lieberman’s team hears most often from enterprise executives: “How do I start controlling token spend and how do I think about attributing value to a token?” and “How do we manage costs, and prevent runaway sessions?”

Token costs will become a dominant topic in enterprises going forward with AI. Just got out of a dinner with many Fortune 500 enterprise CIOs and this was the most heated topic.
BoxMay 2026Source What finance and team leads open each month.
The ledger opens on the month: total spend, tasks completed, hours saved and cost per completed task, with every subscription and key underneath. Any line can be split by person, team, model or workflow, and every figure links to the sessions behind it.
Caps and routing rules sit next to the numbers they change. When a session passes its cap it stops and its owner gets a message. Team leads can ask where their budget went and get an answer that names the work it paid for.
What the ledger tracks.
Your tools and accounts differ. The ledger is built the same way each time.
Accounts
Every AI subscription, API key and agent platform, including expense claims.
People and teams
Spend per person and per team, matched to your directory.
Models
Which model did the work, and what it cost per task.
Workflows
Spend grouped by the job it was used for.
Output
Tasks completed, counted in the systems where the work lands.
Hours saved
Time per task before and after, measured with the team.
Controls
Caps, access tiers, routing rules and alerts, with their history.
Monthly report
One page for leadership: spend, output, what moved and why.
How the ledger is set up and run.
Connect every account
We list every AI subscription, API key and agent platform in use, including the ones paid on personal cards, and connect their billing and usage data with read-only access. The ledger runs on your accounts and stores its data with you.
Tie spend to work
Each session is attributed to a person, team, model and workflow. We link workflows to the systems where their output lands, your helpdesk, ERP, CRM or code repository, so a dollar can be followed to a closed ticket or a sent quote.
Set the controls
With your finance and IT leads we set spend caps, access tiers by role, routing rules that send routine work to a cheaper model and alerts on sessions that run away. Every month we review the numbers, re-route what should move and report to leadership.
Set up in two weeks.
Reviewed every month.
Models change price, new tools get adopted and teams find new uses for the ones they have. Each month we review the ledger with your finance and IT leads, move work to another model where the numbers say so, adjust caps and tiers, and send a one-page report to leadership.
Monthly report
Spend, output, hours saved and cost per task, next to last month.
Re-routing
Workflows moved between models when price or quality changes.
Caps and alerts
Caps, tiers and runaway alerts tuned to how each team works.
New accounts
New subscriptions, keys and agent platforms added as they appear.
What you

Late CheckoutApril 2026Source Before you ask.
Where does the ledger run?
On your accounts. It reads billing and usage with read-only keys and keeps its data in your environment. If you stop working with us, the ledger and its history stay with you.
Which tools can it read?
We check what each of your tools exposes in the first week. Most model providers offer usage and cost data through an admin API. Where a tool only sends invoices and seat lists, we attribute from those, and personal-card spend comes in through expense claims.
How do you measure hours saved?
Per workflow, with the people who do the work: time per task before and after, checked against a sample of real tasks. Each figure shows how it was measured, so finance can question it.
Do caps slow people down?
Caps are set per team and per workflow with the team leads, and most of them never trigger. The ones that matter sit on unattended sessions, where an agent in a loop keeps spending while nobody watches.
Which models do you recommend?
We are model-agnostic and start from what you already use, usually with
Claude among them. Routing rules follow your own cost per completed task, measured in the ledger.
